Dumb Move - Shift from 5th to 2nd - No signs of damage...

Can a diesel handle such a dumb move?

Seems like everything is in perfect order...

Can I bend valves or stuff?

I was in a hurry to follow the ambulance my grandfather was in...

Sure you can overspeed the engine, but don't worry about it now. if theres a problem it will make itself known.

I just got back from the hospital, they're giving him morphine for his pain and he isn't eating...

He's 82 though...

Its terrible to see him like that, I am very close with him...

I just hope he gets some strenght and bounces back somewhat...

Thanks for the concerns...

(I forget how fast I was going, maybe 45-50)

If the truck ran the rest of the way to the hospital and then back home it should be fine. Hopefully your grandfather will be too.
