Drain plug stripped!!!! HEEELP!

Please tell me there's a neat trick for removing a drain plug that's stripped out. (The pan's not stripped, just the 3/8 suare hole in the drain plug is now round, and I can't get anything to get a bite on it.
Should I use a torch, and burn out the nylon ring?
Or should I break out the dremmel, cut some slots and go after it with a cold chisel?

Do you have a welder? If you do try welding an old extension into the hole.

You could sacrafice an old 3" extension and glue it in with JB Weld or a good strong epoxy. Clean the old plug well, then glue that extension to the plug. Let it dry overnight. Then unscrew it then next morning.

A good tip is to occaasionally replace the plug OR get a quick drain kit from geno's. (I'm planing on doing this) You screw it in one time and leave it. Then just add the second of the two parts thats snaps on and quickly drain the oil.

I'd weld an extension or bolt to it. Just be careful with getting it too hot.

A small pipewrench works great on the edge of the big head.
