Dead on the side of the road!!!
Came home from out of town and got the truck (04 2500) out of the airport parking lot, it's been parked since Monday. Drove about 10 miles and met a friend for a couple cold ones, then headed home.
About a mile down the road it quit while doing about 40, coasted into the emergency lane and got it started before it stopped coasting. Drove another mile and stopped to pick up some stuff at Walgreens. Stalled 3-4 times before I could get it back into a parking lot. Called the wife at 10 PM to pick me up
After cranking for ~ 10 seconds it will idle for about 5 seconds then die. Sounds like you shut off the key.
Does this sound like a lift pump?
Didn't have any previous problems, no code, about 1/3 full on gas, 93,000 miles.
Does the 100,000 mile warrenty cover the lift pump?
Need to figure out what to do with it in the morning.

1/3 full of DIESEL
Filter was changed about 10,000 miles ago, I change it every other oil change.
Temp is in the 40's, it didn't show a water in fuel (wouldn't it idle rough?) or any codes.

Option one: Tow to a dealer, let him install a new LP under warrantee. It will be the "In-the-Tank" pump. If you do this option, ask them if you can keep the old sending unit from the tank. This will save you some hassle if you decide on Option two later.
Option two: Tow the truck home, install an aftermarket LP. Glacier makes a good kit and its sold here at DTR. To see what it takes to install this, go here. If you decide to do this option AFTER you do Option one, then the install would go something like this instead.
Oh, and if you continue to start the engine and drive it till it stalls, if it is the LP (and it prob is) your High Pressure Pump will overheat and miraculously turn into toast.
Good luck. Back to my
I had the truck towed home and double checked for codes, it does have two,

Looks like the lift pump?
So I guess the big question is have Dodge fix (hopefully) under warranty?
Or go with a Fass, Glacier, BD or?????
Doubt I'll get anything done before the middle of next week, good thing I'm on vacation........

Oh man, not only do you have a lift pump that is shot, you have an irrational fan. Be careful, that could turn into a stalker situation.
Anyway. Had the same thing on an 04 here a couple weeks back, fellow driving from alaska to america for a holiday. Lift pump just barely got him to town. We ended up going with the in-tank conversion, due to lack of aftermarket options available in town.
That said, he kept his old parts as well, planning to upgrade to a GDP kit when this pump fails.
If you have time to spend, to save some time, go aftermarket right now, and avoid doing the job twice.
Good luck

Thanks for all the advice everyone. At this point I think I'll see if I can get it fixed under warranty. If not I'll go to the Walbro pump, then may as well put a box on it since it'll be out of warranty in a couple thou!
Sorry to hear about this - hope it's a warrenty issue that they can resolve...
But, having had one my-self, this sounds a little more like the old '67 B's behaviour dosen't it? What a great little car...when they decided to run...when they didn't, it was like owning something with a curse on it...!
