Dead pedal??
Hmmm. I drove over town to pick up the trans cooler tube for sender install and I experienced some very brief power surges. Feels sort of like your foot slipped off the accelerator. I have a fuel pressure guage, pressure good, 13-15psi. 15 months ago I replaced the VP44 and lift pump, I have only put on about 10,00km on the VP44. Check engine light did not come on. I checked for codes with superchip tuner, there were none. I am leaving on the 27th to the west coast of Vancouver Island for the yearly fishing trip and I am the tow vehicle. I don't want to be stranded or be the goat. Tomorrow I will try the APPS reset procedure. I have an OTC Genysis at school (am shop teacher), perhaps I can hook it up and watch the values on the TPS and see if there is a flat spot.
Any help or suggestions would be major appreciated!
Thanks

- sounds like you're all over it, I hope your fuel system investment will have a MTBF of more than 15 months -
One other possibility I have seen in these posts is a dirty MAP sensor, might be worth cleaning this?

Checked things out with the Genysis. No stored codes, and the code history also clear. Will this truck store a "soft" code? The aps voltage goes up and down as the accelerator is applied. As it should, didn't copy v values, but I think they were .37v up to 3.4v or something like that. Went for a drive and no hint of troubles. I guess there isn't much I can do. Damm the VP44 - I am totally spooked with regards to reliabilty. How can you have confidence in the albatross of injection pumps?
Anybody else been watching the tour? What an amazing day for Floyd, he really came back after yesterdays dissaster. Wicked effort!
Cheers from the wet coast.

The truck will store "soft" codes, they are proprietary and can be retrieved by Dodge.
Your albatross is more reliable than you think if it were rebuilt by someone that really knows their stuff. Since you have low miles and it looks like the truck is not really worked hard to keep the injectors and pump clear, I would run both a good injector cleaner and then follow with a good fuel conditioner and expect the problem was nothing more than a bit of wax working its way through the delivery valve bypass. Probably just caused a momentary timing bump as the internal pump pressure fluctuated.
The key to keeping one of these happy is to really work it and to not use it for short hops.
