dead intake heater!

I've got to get my 92 D250 ready for a trip up north and need my intake heater working.
I can't find relays ANYWHERE. Dealer discontinued them, none on parts voice, no information on anything similar at parts houses, and Cummins doesn't carry them.

I was given the following:
The company that make them is: White-Rogers and the number that you are looking for is: 120-105111-1 with a coil of 12V DC cont. 9370.

That info isn't helping. The only White-Rogers I can find does heating and A/C products for buildings.

Can anybody help with this one?

That's for the power relays, right? I don't see any reason why you couldn't use a couple of Ford starter relays instead. They're kinda overkill but they are less than $10 each and you can get 'em anywhere.

I've used the Ford starter relays several times, work great and never wear out.

You can buy them direct from Cummins under p/n 3916301. This was brought to my attention by my Cummins parts guy who is just great to deal with.

< borrowed from TDR>
There is a post on TDR for discontinued parts.
There is also a part number for stancor apparentely the new manufacturer of the relays. The part is actually called a DC power contactor and its Stancor part number is 120-901.

I apreciate the info guys. I called Cummins a few days ago and they told me it would have to be a Dodge item. I'll try again with the part number.

Re: dead intake heater!

The white rodgers relays you are looking for will be available at Grangers, Mc Master Carr or check any HVAC (heating/ AC) parts house and they should be able to order it for you. That is where I have gotten them. Following is the link to the page and the relay is the 4th one down. You might have to have some contractor get it for you. Jim.

http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/wwg/start.shtml

Check" Electrical"
Check "Solenoids"
Check "DC POWER Solenoids
it is on page 393 of the catalog

sorry, can't link direct to page.

I've got sources for HVAC stuff fairly cheap. I didn't realize that the correct solenoid was available through them.
I'll get it handled.
Thanks bunches.

Looks just like the starter selenoid on my riding mower. It's a craftsman 14 hp 42 inch cut. Off the shelf part at sears stores and sears hardware stores. Not sure of the amperage. I think I paid about 13.00 bucks for one.

Personally, I like the old ford selenoid idea the best. Cheap, easy to find, and heavy duty, all 3 are winners in my book.

Let us know what you came up with so it will help others with the same problem.
