Dampener Sensor question, FAST PLEASE!

Got a quick ??? for yall, the dampener sensor on a 97 12V we are working on is set at .025 instead of the called for specs of .049-.051. What should we put it back to unpon reinstallation and what will it being set where it is right now do or cause to happen?

Yes we tend to try and make the new guys cry but we'll let you slide. If the sensor wasn't "hitting" the dampner at .025 it will be fine. They just want it no more than .051 away.

Mine was .015? when I first took it apart and when I put it back together I set it at .050 and couldnt tell a difference. There was some spots on the damper that looked like it rubbed lightly on but?

LOL Thanks for the reply!
The truck belongs to my 22 yr old son. I kinda wish he had researched this project a tad more though. He didnt know anything about NOT using a metal feeler guage, and neither did I until I did a search on what to set it to. I hope we can get away with using a metal one just this once! LOL We shall soon find out I reckon!

Sorry bout the dupicate posts folks! Im new here and I didnt see this section when I made the first one and since we were in the process of doing it right then, I figured I might get a faster reply here. It's all buttoned back up and he just left in it so I guess it worked with a metal guage this time!
