loosing power

i have a 2003 cummins h.o. diesel, when i am going up hill and gaining speed my truck gets to a certain point and its as thought it looses pressure/power, its like i have a hose comes loose or something, but all of them are on tight.other than that the truck runs strong. the guy at the dealership said it sounds like i was just hitting the rev limiter. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be. thanks

could this be caused by premature wastegate blow out. Do any of you think a new wastegate from banks would help with my problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Always start with the inexpensive things first. Change the fuel filter, check the air filter. Does it start to gain power again once the rpm's drop a little? Is it throwing any codes?

i just installed a volant cold air intake, but it was doing this before i even installed it. im not getting any codes at this time. Do you think it could be something to do with the wastegate.

What RPM does this happen at? Also, I think that it is unlikely that it's a wastegate problem, because to feel like that, the wastegate would have to be suddenly swinging wide open like a screendoor, and they just don't work like that. Duplicating the concern while on the road and monitoring a boost gauge and a fuel pressure gauge would definitely be helpful, and probably the only efficient way to diagnose this.

I have heard some people here talking about dead pedal, but its seems that most of the people talking about that has a 2002 cummins or older. Could this be what im experiencing. Also im wondering if I were to install a bully dog power pup, if this would help the problem or add to it. Im sorta use to the power stroke and not the cummins. Maybe this is just how the cummins operate.
