code scanners

Can anyone suggest a good code scanner and where it can be purchased I get tired of going to the gargage to have things fixed if I can solve some of them myself I have a 98 3500 cummins

Go to autozone.com or partsamerica.com. They have online catalogs for this kind of stuff. It seems to me they had a reader for $150. If you have Pep Boys in your area they had a reader on sale for $100.
