check gages/temp gage
check gages/temp gage
2001 stock auto. driving home temp gauge pins and check gauges light comes on. Then light goes off and temp gauge returns to normal. This happens twice and I notice that when gauge is pinned and light is on the heat is blowing cold. I'm guessing thermostat or water pump. I'm no mechanic but would like to have an idea of what the problem is before I get it fixed. Thanks
Are you low on coolant? I have seen this happen in that case. Could be as simple as a bad coolant sensor or corroded connection as well. Can't hurt to check the water pump and replace the thermostat though... Good luck.
I just checked the coolant. It was about 2 gallons low! I'm taking it on a test run. Now to find the leak. I haven't seen anything on the ground and I watch it close because recently there has been a puddle of PS fluid. just changed the steering box. Thanks for the help.
