Sorry too far to help in person. Try bumping starter can you hear the LP running? Should run for 25 seconds. Cycle this way 3 or 4 times if no sound from LP it's dead if it NOT dead another way to try is put the go pedal to the floor and try to start. DON'T run starter more than about 10 or 15 sec at a time. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge installed? if not you might want to see if a local person can help you get it running maybe post a 911 truck dead need help

Thanks. It is getting too dark here anyway. I think I will attack it again tomorrow, go to Barnes and Noble and get an owners manual, and then if I have to post a 911 truck dead need help.

I just replaced my fuel filter and also had problems. It started right up after the change, but died. I tried again and it wouldn't start. I finally started looking around and noticed that when I would let the lift pump run fuel was still running out. When I had drained the canister before changing the filter, the valve did not close all of the way. After this I tried to start the truck again but with no avail. I ended up cracking the injector lines to finally get the truck started.

Yes make sure you close that drain valve, speaking of that plunger valve, anyone know where to buy the little orings on the plunger, dealer wants $15.00 bucks for the kit of 3 orings. My experience with my truck is if that lift pump is in proper working order, and that plunger drain valve is closed, you should only have to bump that starter2-3 times and she will go.

I suppose by now you have the problem fixed but for future reference, after you are ready to try to start the truck after the fuel filter installation, turn the key to the run position then "bump" the starter. by that i mean turn the key like you normally would to start it but don't let it crank long enough to start. This will make your lift pump run for about 20 seconds or so and that should give you enough fuel to the injection pump to get it started. you should be able to hear the lift pump running after you bump the engine, if not you need a lift pump.
