Cam/Crankshaft Sensor

My check engine light came on and took the truck to autozone they saide it was a chankshaft position sensor. but is there a possibility that it is a cam sensor. my truck is a 2000 2500 4x4 does it have a cam sensor. also what sensor causes the tach to bounce.

Its your crank position sensor. I think in 01 and up they changed the place and called it the cam sensor, nut shure there. Yours is directly under your vp44, real pita to get at, but they are pretty cheap. If you under the truck you should be able to get to it.
