Yesterday, the end of my fuel shut off solenoid broke off....this seemed strange to me. I have heard of the solenoid quiting, but I have not heard of the end breaking off. I ordered a new one, but I am thinking about welding the end back on the old one to keep for a spare and to keep from having to tie and untie to start/kill the engine until the new one comes in. Anyone done this?

 

I recall someone talking about welding one back together several years ago. They were successful.
