Brake problems

Hello again guys i haven't been on here in quite some time. Got married May 6th and the wife is keeping me pretty busy! Anyways my 00' 2500 sport is broke again. the abs and brake light came on about 2 weeks ago and i am wondering what is causing this. i dont think it is the front bearings b/c they have both been recently replaced. However, my brakes do squeal when i stop does this truck have some type of sensor that recognizes when u need pads or what?

I hope your life insurance is fully paid!

When the ABS and brake warning lights turn on it is a serious situation. You should never drive the rig with those lights on as a total failure of your brakes can occur. I mean like no pedal and absolutely no brakes!

The brake squeal is a sign that you have hit the warning tabs that are mounted on the pads, of if the squeal is beyond a chirp you are likely now chewing up the rotors with the backing plates from the pads. If this is allowed to go on for too long, the system exceeds its capacity for volume of fluid sent to each affected brake cylinder because it now requires more fluid to fill the calipers than is available. The system can, and will eventually, simply just shut down and you will have no brakes at all.
