i'll drive no problem...come to a light...the brake light comes on...get going again and it goes away...brakes work fine when im on the street...when i get into a parking lot and im reversing/going forward/reversing slowly, the light is on and i cant push the pedal down much it gets all hard...and the truck keeps rollin...rather scary...but driving on the street i can brake to a red light no problem

any suggestions?

oh yeah...i got some sort of leak coming out the power steering pump/vacuum pump...i just finished reading all about the seal replacemetn kits for that seal...would that cause my brake issue when im at a light just holding the brake to keep the truck from moving?

8$ from cummins i believe?

k did some more reading...so 2 things...the vacuum assist line running from the vacuum assist pump to under the firewall is a common thing...there's a TSB on it regarding a check valve
http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1997/19-10-97.htm ....read

umm so what does that mean? does that mean that if i dont have acheck valve, dodge will check it and install it and replace my hose? for free?
otherwise what would be the easiest place to get a hoze like that (dont u dare say dealer)

2nd problem is the seal between the steering pump and vacuum pump...that would be 8$ from cummins

??

A TSB doesn't mean they will do the work for free but on my '95s the check valve was a recall.

so i checked out the vacuum brake/booster hose it looks fine...am i supposed to see a crack or something? cause it looks pretty good...anyways i am leaking power steering fluid no engine oil...and the leak is on my gear BOX...right where the nut is for the line that runs from the steering pump...is there a seal for this?..i may have overfilled the fuid in the winter...how can i get some out?

oh and would this power steering fluid leak affect my breaks?
