bleeding clutch system after replace...

What is the easiest way to bleed the clutch system, I am replacing the master and slave cylinders tonight and was wondering if there were any tricks to it, I broke my input shaft and i just got done putting everything back together i just figured while i was in there and had everything ripped apart then i would just replace them as well. i have the bleeder tool to catch all the fluid so not to get it everywhere, anyway any input is appreciated, I may not get to do it until tomorrw seeing as it is snowing here right now.

I was under the impression that they came as an assembly from Mopar so you don't have to bleed it?

There is no bleed screw. If it needs bleeding the only way is to leave it sit installed and let any air bubble up into the reservoir.

so even if I totally replace both cylinders there should be no bleeding involved? Sounds good to me, usually a pain, now all i need is some warm weather to do the fix.

If you are just replacing the cylinders ... the system must be bench bled. Call me and I'll explain the process. To much for me to type right now.

If you buy the slave and master cylinder from DC, they come with new connecting line and have a quick connect fitting. The entire assembly when installed requires no bleeding.

Good luck,

Gary

I have a 91 1st gen cummins and the fluid in the clutch has never been replaced. It looks bad so I'd like to change it. Any tips on a 1st gen hyd clutch bleeding? Thanks

When you change the fluid out, do it late in the day, when you don't need the truck for a while. Change it out and get as much air out as you can from any bleed screws that may be present.
Then, take a brake pedal hold down tool ( a 2x4 if you have to ) push the clutch pedal to the floor, and leave it there overnight. This method made doing hydraulic clutch work a lot easier. it even works on fords. And anything that makes working on a ford easier, I'm all for it.

Good luck
