need more info

Is there an amount of time you can drive and the smoke stop? Does it get worse or better after driving a while? What happens when you floor it? It started when you ran a 50/50 mix of used oil and diesel so if it is a stuck injector: one your oil level will begin to rise(usually) two, you would have a difference in power level, not much, but if you have always paid very close attention that you'll notice. If you have too much oil in th path than you'll have smoke, but if it was in the turbo outlet or the exhaust it woul have the oil blue tint to it, prior and it would be inhibiting the proper burn of the diesel. Air flow restriction can cause black smoke too. Ie.. cover your air filter with a bag and watch it smoke...but there too you would have a power change, noticable change.

Mine smokes even after a couple tanks of straight #2 after running wmo; it is a blue haze at a stoplight. Same with my 6.2 chev. I only get black when I REALLY get on it.

Good luck.

1) Looking out the mirrors, I thought the smoke was less severe at about 40mph or higher...I had friends follow me but they thought the smoke was maybe dissipating in all the wind turbulence at higher speeds(?) They really aren't mechanically inclined enough to tell for sure. I'll have to follow one day this week while someone else drives the truck.

2) I've floored the truck a few times but haven't noticed any loss in power. If I get on it...it goes without any issue. Though one afternoon, I thought I noticed the smoke became less intense at idle after getting on it a lot through out the day (thought this might help free the inj if it were actually stuck(?))

3) I'm monitoring the oil level on the dipstick really close...so far its still dead smack on the line just before the overfill zone near the knurled hash-marks on the dipstick.

4) I haven't noticed any blue tinged smoke. Its truly black. Use to have an '89 Dodge Caravan w/bad rings & the blue smoke was unmistakable.

Really really appreciate the feedback! I'm a bit ignorant w/Turbo Diesels vs. gassers but I'm determined enough to know I can at least narrow this down.
