best fuel problem cure for 02?

my truck is hesitating momentarley before it picks up,
and does not feel like it can take much trottle.
I put the high pressure fuel guage that I use on my chevy,
on the schrader valve ,did not move needle at all,
but fuel would run through the pressure relief, when used.
bad lift pump?
will one of you experts tell me the most reliable repairs?
that I can do this weekend.
this truck is my daily worker,
cant afford not to have my truck,
thanks all!

Pressure is only about 10 - 15 pounds at the schrader valve, if ur f.p. gauge is hi pressure (i dont know how hi yours is), it may not read such a low pressure? I too have a '02 and am looking into fixing the issue before it becomes a problem, I have 14 lbs of pressure right now, so my "fix" proably wont be in the too near future. Mine is also my daily work truck so I wont be able to have any down time either.

You should check for codes, fix fuel problem(whether it's the just a lift pump, and/or the dreaded P0216 injection pump code), install fuel pressure gauge. Then either upgrade to FASS, and just do away with lift pump, or a similiar fuel upgrade such as Vulcan, or Scotty smart fuel system. With my upgraded power, I decided to go with the FASS system-no regrets.
