Hook up all of your connections . Back probe the connector on the reference wire. It is probably backfeeding voltage on that wire because the sensor 5v feed has no where to go when the tps isn't hooked up. All sensors should be checked hooked up. You can check for the 5v and ground when unhooked, but when checking the reference wire, it should be in circuit.

overdrive switch

I was reading on a switch for od for my 1995 if i am right my od solenoid has three wires on it,orange black tracer a brown and a green w/ black tracer, which wire do i ground with a toggle switch to get od.please help fuel mileage
is terrible
