Hey guys/gals, I got antifreeze dripping off the front of the engine right where the oil pan meets the block just behid the harmonic balancer. Would that be from the weep hole in the water pump? Does it, (water pump), need replacing? I checked the hose and this is the only place I can think of that it would be coming from. Also, I'm in Georgetown Tx so it just BARELY gets to freezing around here once in awhile.... so I'm really not worried about a cracked block. i believe the truck info is in my sig, I'll post and make sure it's there, if it's not then I'll ad a reply to this with the info....

The water pump is the most likely. Check the lower radiator hose over good first, though. A lot of trucks have leaky timing cover and/or crank seals that soak the hose with oil, causing it to break down over time.

Good news is that it will be the easiest water pump you've ever done. Pop the belt, remove two bolts, and it's in your hand.

 

Thanks wanadiesel, I went out and looked at the lower hose, (flashlight in hand cause it's Odark30 now), and it looks AND FEELS ok and dry.
Just a side note: I've had a purtty good oil leak up front front for several thousand miles. Am planning on checking the KDP and thus replacing the seal and T cover gasket at the same time very soon. Just rolled 186,000 miles yesterday.

does anybody know of a "bomb" shop or "good" after-market mechanic in this area??
