Anti-lock brake problem?
Anti-lock brake problem?
I have a 2002 2500 with Automatic. When sitting at a light with my foot on the brakes the truck will lurch forward (just a bit) as though the brakes had been quickly released and then reapplied. From another post I thought the electrical system could be causing the problems so I cleaned the battery cables but it didn't help. The truck has the the original batteries - almost 6 yrs old. I don't trust any of the dealers in the Dallas area that I have dealt with. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
I am considering replacing both batteries and having the brake fluid flushed and refilled.

Are you applying sufficient pressure to the pedal? If the pressure is marginal, the engine will slip the brakes a little bit at a time until you press it hard enough to keep the tranny from forward motion.
Funny but this is what my ultra-powerful Kia Spectra is doing if I hold its brakes just lightly at a traffic light. It will lurch and creep just a tad. But if I realize I am letting off the brake and push on a bit harder, it stops dead.

Mine was doing that along with all the other symptoms of the Governor Pressure Sensor/Solonoid going out.
It's like it waits till after you've stopped to shift down to 1st.
Got them both replaced under 7/100K warranty, $100 deductable.
