alarm won't stop!!!!!
the alarm on my girlfriends 00' dodge just started going off this mornin & I can't make it stop, she bought the truck used & we don't have a remote for the doorlocks/remote, I've unhooked the battery cables & pulled the horn & security relays & it still won't start & if i plug the relays back in & hook up the battery cables the alarm starts again, help please, Thanks, Dusty

I, too, don't have a remote. On mine, there is a small red button switch, below the steering wheel, behind the kick panel ... I think they call it a valet switch. Maybe worth checking out! Hope this helps.

If it's a factory alarm I don't know what to do.
If it's an aftermarket alarm there is usually an inline fuse (or fuses) somewhere either near the alarm brain or near the power source (battery). If you can find that fuse (or fuses) and pull it (them) then your truck should start and operate normally.

had a cell in the battery short out while i was inside a store once upon a time. came out to find the alarm going off. wouldn't reset, van wouldn't start. it is a furd but the story fits. replaced battery, back to normal.

Here is what you do if you have the key, and you know the location of the dash switch. If the remote dies, then unlock the door and open it, the alarm will go off like it should. Then turn the key to ON and push the dash switch. The alarm should stop. Its a fail safe in case the remote dies, but it only works if you have the key.
I have also had good luck with complete disconnection of the alarm brain. This has worked on 2 different brand alarms in 2 different vehicles. Find the brain, and disconnect the main connection. The vehicle will run like there is no alarm installed.

Thanks guys, putting the key in the door & turning it back & forth done the trick, I got it fixed the other day, but my computer has been down, thanks again for the help, you really can't beat this site for this kind of info. thanks again, Dusty
