Air Sound When Accelerating

My 2003 Dodge 3500 started making a strange noise (sort of like air leaking) from the engine when I accelerate. If I put it into neutral and give it gas the noise isn't there, it only happens in gear. The noise gets louder the faster I go and if I let off the gas it goes away. It probably isn't air, its just the best way to describe the sound. Any ideas?

have you check your intercooler boots? that is a common cause for your air sound.

do you have more smoke than normal?

Looking into it more closely, I found that my "Filter Minder" wasn't reading correctly so when I checked my air cleaner myself (trusted that the dealer had checked it when I changed oil - won't trust anymore), my filter was completely clogged and had caused an air line to blow itself out of the Turbo... just needed to re-insert the hose, and replace the air filter, so since I was at it I went ahead and replaced the fuel filter as well... Thanks for the suggestions!

Chek your line pre turbo and post, did you put a different air filter on? MAke sure there are no leaks pre filter or you may dust your engine.

No leaks post filter. Pre filter is the dirty incoming air.
