ABS light...how to turn off?

My dust guards for the ABS have rotted away and the brass got very dirty. As a result my ABS light came on and it has been 3 months and it will not shut off. Does anyone have any idea how I can get light to go out? Other than disconnecting it.

I would think its either let it burn out, or remove the dash and take out the bulb.

Fix the ABS.

Do you have anything pluged into your OBDII port?
I was using power from the OBD port for my boost gauge before, and that tripped the Brake and ABS lights.

I did clean the brass gears and ABS sensors thoroughly . There is nothing plugged into the OBDII port. I guess I might have to take it in to have the idiot lights turned off.

A piece of electrical tape should work.

Who needs ABS anyways. Look at Fred Flinstone, ever see him get in an accident?

Sometimes the ABS light will come on if one of the wires going the the sensor on the ring gear breaks. Check the wire going to the top of the differential housing-that's what caused my ABS light to come on. Good luck.

The rear diff, there is sensor that goes inside the top that controls the speedo and the ABS.

I do not know if these trucks have adjustable spacing between the sensor and the reluctor ring but if it is adjustable try checking that.

It's not adjustable and I did check the sensor in the Diff. All is ok. I guess 'll just go in and get the ABS reset.
