What vehicle are you referring to since you have multiples listed in your sig? Did you do a complete axle swap or just gears?

The speed sensor on the transfer case and the one on the rear end have to agree on the ground speed.
If you changed ratios they won't agree.
Depending on the year you may need a computer flash from the dealer or a different speedo gear.

the truck is a 98 with 2001 axles swaped in. with 4.10 gears the old ratio was 3.55

in 98 they stopped using the vss in the t-case and went exclusivly to the rear end.

If that's the case then the PCM probably still thinks he has the old axle ratio, needs a dealer flash.
With my limited knowledge of ABS I find it hard to believe there is only one sensor. I always thought there had to be two or more in order for the ABS controller to determine that the wheels were locked up.
