99 no acceleration

99 auto, fuel pressure 10-12 psi, no codes. Acceleration is poor and only getting top speed of 65-70 mph. That is with the pedal all the way to the floor.

Any thoughts?

first thing if you haven't yet change filter, then you should get the codes pulled .there are a few things that can cause low power but you dont want to through parts at it until you narrow it down. also when you tested the fuel pres. was it at idle or going down the road ? looks like an idle pressure reading. you need 5 psi min at WOT.

I have a mechanical gauge. It reads 13 or so at idle. The 10-12psi pressure is going down the road. It's actually near 12 and I can get it to drop to 10 when I really mash it.

There are no codes. This problem seems to be intermittent. Was fine for 48 of my 50 mile commute this morning. All of a sudden if feels like a parachute deployed. My speed stayed at 70mph but would not accelerate even by putting the pedal to the floor. I took my foot completely off the pedal, coasted to 60mph, pressed the accelerator again and everything worked fine. I'll do some more tests and report back.

I'm pretty sure you have. Notorious (dead pedal) your injection pump is going. Mine did same thing no codes for a while. Truck last 6. Months or more like that. Do a forum search. ( dead pedal)

I sure hope its not the injection pump. I just changed it 50k miles ago. Did the lift pump at the same time and also installed the mechanical gauge.

I noticed on my way home from work that I could take my foot off the pedal for just a second or two, then press it down and get acceleration.
