I have a 99 cummins that starts to sputter spit then not run after about 15-20 miles. I did have a crank sensor code and I replaced it, but that did not repair the problem. After truck stops working has to cool to almost ambient before it runs again. Truck recently had injector pump replaced and has 220k miles on it.

Please, with sugar on top, HELP!!!!!

 

Did they replace the LP too? What is your Fuel Pressure?
You should have at least a FP gauge. Is you CEL (Check Engine Light) coming on?

Truck had the pump replaced 6-8 months ago. CEL came on indicating crank sensor, so we replaced it. It will run for 15-20 miles then it stops. I have no FP gauge, but would something warming up cause this? Whats not cycling properly?

 

i got the famous p1688 code after a sudden shut down today. I am also getting the p0380. Can anyone tell me what the P0380 means, and what to do to fix? Also, the P1688, I have read it means the IP is bad, is there any other possibilities it could be? Or am I out of luck? Thanks in advance for any help
