90 cummins to 93 cummins
hey guys well my 90 motor has pritty much had it im using about 4L oil every 2 weeks, and the blow by is excessive and i got hard starts almost everytime i start it even during the day. so i have another motor from a 93, i ordered ARP head studs for it as well as some more goodies, i have some questions. first can i put my 1990 steering pump on the 93 motor? and what head gasket do you guys suggest to use? also is the injection pump from my 93 any different then my 90 injection pump? the 93 was an automatic so it had the tps and my 90 is a manual. what i mean about injection pump is do they flow the same amount of fuel fully tuned? is it worth it to throw 60lb valve springs and 4000 gov spring? or is there more to it then that?

same pump, smaller injectors, larger exhaust turbo housing, ps pump has 2 bolts, pulls right out, im running a .020 thicker head gasket, the later gaskets are considered upgrade quality, if your going to 4k rpm, youll need the valve springs, out of curiosity, with the numbers your pushing, how many miles you got on that motor?

alright well i gave him the list of what i all want for the motor. i included the 60 lb valve springs to. the motor has 350 000 km, previous owner before i had it, never had any guages, and drove it hard. i put guages in when i got it right away and man it ran hot. so im sure it had been over heated countless times.

if it cooked real good, it would be bleeding black gold, from everywhere, with the headgasket being the worst fatality. these motors are pretty durable with high temp stress, just not extreme
