Truck die at idle like running out of fuel,then have to crank for 30sec to start and spouters for a while then ok. Runs fine from 1000 rpm up. Changde filters and cleaned pre heater,wires are burned off pre heater,read that it happens.
Idle was low turned it up no good unless i keep it at 1000rpm or higher.
was told it could be transfer pump,was a problen with then.

Unless you have access to a fuel pressure gauge setup just replace the overflow valve

Thanks that is it,I put vicegrips on return line and as soon as the eng started to die i clamped the line and it came back to idle.
