Unhappy 93 VE pump leak

My 93 VE pump has a leak at the governor shaft nut. Just above the mounting flange. Is it possible to access this by loosening mounting bolts and sliding back. I sure hate to remove the pump for one little o-ring.
Thanks

If this is the seal I am thinking of you can get to it from the outside, but it is not a standard O-ring. It is a square shouldered seal made specifically for Bosch, and an O-ring will not work.
