'91 Mazda B2600I

I know it's not a Dodge but it's my daily driver and I have to get it back on the road ASAP. Here's my problem: It's a manual and I can't run it through the gears when the motor is going. If I get it in neutral it won't go into any of the gears so I put on a new slave cylinder and master cylinder and even adjusted the pedle and it still won't work. When the engine is off I can run it through the gears just fine. Another thing it does is if I do manage to get it in gear the tires will still spin even with the clutch depressed (it's up on jack stands). Any ideas what to check next? I can't see the throw out bearing unless I pull the tranny, I guess that will be next.

It's got 185,000 miles on it but I went through it a couple of years ago and replaced a bearing and everything still looked real good.

Oh yeah I forgot, when I do manage to get it in gear, it does not slip-the clutch seems to hold all that power just fine.

Sure sounds like its not releaseing to me. Re-check Master and slave and try rebleeding the system.

air in the master, slave. take the slave off, crack the line or the bleeder, push in the rod slowly and hold it while you tighten up the line then release it. repeat this a couple times (or untill when you push in the rod you only get liquid) keeping the master full. this is the best way to bleed a clutch IMO

It sounds like the pressure plate could have broken. Do you feel any "pressure" on the pedal when you step on it? It seems like you should be able to see the fork the throw-out bearing slides into move if all is well on the hydraulic side.

this is true, or I have had the clutch face come apart and stack up between the flywheel and presure plate not letting it disingauge, If you sure the hyd. is bleed properlly then you will have to drop the tranny to fix it

once you have come to conclusion it's not hydralics... sorry next step is yanking the tranny.

I'd do t/o brg, pilot brg, disc and pressure plate. if I was going in.
if you are selling the truck... car lot special is disc only.

before you yank, be sure and check adjustment for slave cyl rod. which should have aprox. 1/4in movement. if you have a lot of slop there, clutch will not fully dis-engage.

I've bled and bled the system so I don't think it's the hydralics. When I rebuilt the tranny unfortunately I didn't do anything to the clutch because it was working fine. The guy I bought the truck from said it did the same thing a while ago and he replaced the slave cylinder and fixed it. So far it has been working for the past 5000 miles. I guess I will have the pleasure of pulling the tranny tonight and see what I need to do. Thanks fellas.

Anybody want to buy a slightly used Mazda?

We'll haul it away for FREE! (just kidding)

Put a little sweat equity into her - it'll be well worth it...

That's what I plan to do. I love driving this little truck but it's getting to the point of me spending more than it's worth. Hopefully I won't have to buy a complete clutch kit because that would go over like a turd in a punch bowl with my wife. The motor is still strong and doesn't use oil so hopefully this will be it for a while.
