6.2l Chevrolet wont start
6.2l Chevrolet wont start
I replaced the heads on a 6.2l Chevrolet and cant get it restarted. Did not remove the injector pump just the fuel lines. I know that I have fuel feeding the pump but none coming out. What is the proper way to bleed the pump on a 6.2l.
Any time I have done it its just cracking lines on the injectors and running the starter until you see some fuel coming out. You could also pull the fuel return rubber lines off to see if you are getting flow. Pumping the fuel filters full as much as you can helps a lot as well.
Just went thru this on a IDI 7.3 Furd, took way longer than I thought to get fuel from the pump to the Injectors. If it is a stick, try pull starting, if not, unhook the glow plugs and try running it one WD40.
We had already pulled the fuel line that was leaving the filter and turned it over until fuel poured out. According to some information I found the injector pump is suppose to self bleed. We tightened all the lines down and turned it over for about 45 seconds and it fired up. I knew changing the heads would be a job, but I didn't realize that it would take as long as it took us. I am glad the job is done now.
Apologize for bumping this thread up. But seemed to be similar with my dad's blazer. after a week of driving the car ended up not starting on the next morning. replaced everything, the alternator, the battery and the starter but seems no warning signs at all. then, the mechanic recommend replacing the fuel pump and works well. recommend doing the same thing. Just give it a try!
