fuel pressure probs and questions????

hi guys i recently had a issue with my intank pump,i cut a hole in my box and pulled it out that way and repaired the prob, drove it for about 2 weeks and all was well, fuel pres on the camander guage was about 18-20psi,i think i have it set on the wrong setting in the camander though as when i set it to 0-100psi it shows 18-20 and when its at the -0-40 it shows about 6-8psi,i washed carefully inder the hood and the intercooler and then when i drove i noticed the fuel pres was bouncing from 16-0-10-1- and all over the place,i checked the wire on the fuel pres sender and it was fine,i unthreaded the sender and looked for leaks and it was fine,i took the sender to my local parts place to see if a oil pres sender was the same,he needed to know the ohms it required,he had many that looked the same,i remeber a few years ago the quadzilla pres sender tranducer had some isses and they were replacing them for free to customers, mine worked fine so i never contacted them,it there a way to test the sender?also does anyone know if the sender is a generic oil pres sender like a 0-40 oil pres?i am scared to drive the truck as is,will the cp3 actually suck the fuel if the pump isnt working properly,i can hear the pump running,i am going to try and find a thread in mechanincal gauge and see if its reading properly, the truck is running fine i just want to know if im getting any fuel presure or not, thanx for reading guys, any help or tips is greatly apriciated
