47RE slipping in 2nd

Tranny has just started slipping in 2nd gear. 70K miles. Fluid good. Bands were adjusted at 30K. Fluid changes at 30K and 60K.
Doesn't slip if I put it in Manual 2nd.
Valve body? Governor Pressure Sensor?

Check your throttle position cable for proper adjustment, or either the ends being cracked or the bayonet clips on the housing being loose. Also, check your selector linkage to make sure all the bushings are present and in good condition.

I would lean toward the throttle position cable being the problem and the valve body not knowing where it is set as a result. That will cause low pressure and clutch slippage.

The other possible culprit is the APPS. Do the relearn procedure, and if that does not solve the problem, test the sensor to make sure it is working.

Definitely check the front band adjustment too! Even if it hasn't been out of whack to start with and the cause was some or the other thing that RCW mentioned the band will be worn down a good bit due to the slipping.

RCW, AlpineRam

Thanks for the tips. Will check them out this weekend. The odd part about all this is that it happened on the way to work. Driving home after work, everything worked perfectly, also on the way to work this morning, no problems. My first thought was that some crud had gotten in the valvebody and screwed things up. Will let you know if I find anything.

If it's like that I'd start with the basics- fluid level and state (burnt-dirty etc) filter change and band adjustment. While in there you can check the linkage RCW mentioned.
Do also check for codes.

AlpineRam,
No codes were thrown. As mentioned, fluid levels and condition is good.
Will be dropping the pan this weekend to check everything out.
