2 piece driveshaft carrier support bearing?

Bill i just went through my hayne's manual and they mention that one i slide the rear shaft out of the center bearing i need to take the fron shaft and bearing to a shop to have it pressed off and the new one pressed on...is that the case?...otherwise the install looks very straight forward

hey guys i bought the bearing from car quest for 31$!!!....its even a genuine spicer part ...napa is overpriced on this one more than double

I had the bearing in my '01 replaced under warranty. it failed because the slip joint right behind it froze and every time I accelerated the driveshaft would deflect the carrier bearing to the point that the shaft was rubbing on the housing. check your slipjoint. the rubber is pretty pliable you can pull it about 1/4" in any direction even on a new bearing.
