12v Fuel Leak?
i have a leak on the pressure line from the tank where the rubber hose meets the metal line up by the fuel filter housing. it looks as if it is allowing fuel to run down the rubber line and spray fuel onto the starter and front diff. does anybody know what the part # is for this rubber hose? also should i be checking any other areas that could be causing this. Thanks Mark

Supply is 3/8" and return is 5/16". Its diesel rated fuel line - theres no real part number unless you want the pricey $4+ a foot hose.
Should be able to get it at your local parts or farm store.
Sounds like its time to replace all of the fuel line here. Doing any less than all of it is a bandaid fix.
www.fostertrucks.com has it as does www.vulcanperformance.com

Thanks for the quick reply, so it will be ok to just hose clamp all of new hoses onto the metal lines? there seems to be a special blue looking connection where the rubber hose connects to the metal line by the fuel filter and how do you get rubber hose off down by the fram rail where it connects again to the metal one?

Most of us just run rubber from where it quick connects under the truck right to the engine supply and return.
The stock lines make sense from an assembly standpoint, but not from a repair one.

did some reading in the search area and found a TON of info on this problem, if i understood the info correctly there are short pieces of rubber feed and return lines coming out of the tank to metal lines that run along the frame to the front, then turn into rubber lines once again for about 2 ft then back to metal, then there is a small 90 of rubber off of the fuel heater to lift pump and one more piece of rubber return fuel line behind the IP. so that would be a total of 6 rubber lines needing replacement. now i need to locate 3/8 and 5/16 diesel rated hose in san diego. anyone have a napa, autozone, kragen, carquest # for this hose?

Pay the price for high quality hose and be done with it for the life of the truck.
You should have no problem finding USCG fireproof hose at a marine supply store which there should be plenty of in SD.

after washing the underside down and driving the truck a few miles, i found that the leak is coming from the fuel primer/plunger on the lift pump. is there an o ring that can be replaced or does this mean my 2 yr old lift pump needs to be replaced?

Look here, looks like you unscrew the plunger and replace the o-ring.
