06 Mega won't start

Went outside to start my truck and go to discount to get my new tires this morning. Truck won't start. Turned over blew tons of white smoke and kept trying to start, but would rattle a second then die. Eventually it quit trying and just turns over now but doesn't try to start or blow smoke anymore. What you think guys. Dodge is on there way to pick it up.

Did you just fuel it up by any chance ? Are you in freezing temps ?? Sounds like bad fuel/water in the filter or frozen in the lines.

Since you didn't mention it, I figure no check engine light?

If not I would also think possible bad fuel. Kind of funny though you ran 3/4 tank with no problems. Let us know what Dodge finds out.

Well they called me and said the fuel was definately contaminated with something turqoise. Asked me if I had added anything to fuel and I told them no...so now they think maybe someone put something in my tank. Said it won't be covered by warranty and they don't know what all they will have to do yet. Will call me back with an estimate. Said I should probably call my insurance since won't be covered by warranty

Good luck with your insurance on this. My GF had contaminated fuel system on her Sebring. Her insurance company sent an adjuster to the dealership and looked at the parts (injectors, fuel lines and tank). She had rust inside a plastic tank. The adjuster did her a favor and declared it as vadalism and they paid. If he declared as just bad gas they would not have paid the claim. Bill came to something like $1,500 for a 6 cylinder gas engine. I would hate to see what they will charge for the Cummins fuel system.

If your insurance does not want to pay they will just say it was contaminated fuel. That was just our personal experience.

Were you towing anything on that trip?

Have you checked your oil level after it wouldn't start?

Do you have any aftermarket gauges?

Sample that fuel, have it analized. Docuement everything--I get really annoyed when the dealer dosen't know what it even it and yet feel it's improtant to say "It's not covered under warrenty..."

Definately get a sample and then take another drive and go back to where you got the fuel take a 2.5 gallon gas can and get more of that deisel and sample that. If it is still bad when you get more then make the gas station pay for the fuel, damages and your looss of time!! That would be worth half a day's time..

still havn't found out what they are gonna do. He just called and asked if I have had any programmers or tuners on my truck and I told him no. He just said he had to ask. Still hasn't given me an answer as to what it is. Am wondering now if when they analyzed the fuel there was nothing in it to hurt anything. Have had it since tuesday and still say they are diagnosing the problem.
