06 battery blew up!

About a month ago I got my smarty, and loaded up the new rev TNT. I noticed that my volt meter had dipped to the bottom of the black area on the gauge. I did a search and found a tsb that needed to be flashed. I thought that maybe the smarty tune did not have the tsb loaded, so I took the truck back to stock and bammo! it was fixed. I took it to the dealership just in case and they flashed the new tsb. Truck was fine until today. I was driving for a medical appointment and about 60 miles from the hotel the **** needle went back down to the bottom of the gauge again. I decided to try and make a dash for the hotel instead of stopping and loading the smarty back to stock (since this worked before). Well I got 5 miles down the road and bam! I heard a pop and white smoke came from the pass side hood. I drove to the nearest auto zone and replaced the battery and put the truck back to stock but the gauge is still the same and the truck is now dead. I am having it towed to dodge tomorrow. Any ideas?
Thanks

This kinda looks like it might be an easy fix cause on my 94 it was not charging and check all the fuses the ones in the main engine fuse panel and you might find its just a blown fuse thats causing all your headache and not an expensive fix.
Mine was a 30 AMP ENG. CONTRL. fuse and now I have a new alternator and PCM computer. Its spare parts now my old ones cause they are good. BUt just goes to show check the simple things before changing parts.
Good luck with yours.

Some 06 trucks did not have passenger side battery cable on tight. Make sure all your cables are clean and on tight. If battery is cable is lose it can overcharge and send the battery sky high. Saw this happen on an 03 once.

check all your cables they have a tendency to rub and chafe around the air box clamp i just found this on my neighbors truck .. very luck he was losing power in battery and shorting out . You can barly see the chafing it cut right into the cable It was resting on the clamp and just went right into the cable
