05' map senser on 1500
My sister-in law has a 05 1500 hemi. The truck was stallin while driving and a few other things that I can't think of right now. She took it to the dealer to have it checked. Dealer said that the map senser is bad. No big deal except that they say that they can not find on to replace it with something about the map senser is different in the 05. Supposidely they have been working with dodge on this, they are talking about having to change something else in order to make a nother map senser to fit. I appoligize this is so not very thorough on everthing involved but I have 2nd hand info. Just trying to find out if anyone else has had or heard of this before, and if possible a part number for a senser to fit an 05 without changing anything else. Thanks for any help.
Parts are a real problem on all late model US brand name automotive products, not just Dodge. It is part of this world economy deal, lowest possible cost from some third world country or another. The manufacturer will order a batch of stuff from the lowest bidder, and then when enough of the parts fail their engineers spend a lot of butt scratching time trying to figure out how to blame the manufacturer instead of the elcheapo specifications. In the mean time they run out of supply, and the consumer bears the burden.
The real solution is to quit buying new vehicles and hit the manufacturers in the pocketbook until they put quality ahead of cheap.
This is exactly why Toyota and Nissan are kicking butt, they both have quality assurance programs and stand behind their products.
