Pedal position senser

Pedal position senser

The engine light came on while out of town and the code is P0122 TPS/Pedal Position sensor A circuit low input. Doed anybody have any ideas or advice as to how to fix this problem or hell for that matter what it is. Thanks alot guys.

Im assuming that the voltage going to the APPS is too low. I forget which wire it is, others will probably chime in and help you out. But there is a wire that you can test to see how much voltage is going through it to the APPS. This voltage should be close/match the required voltage that is on the APPS itself (on a sticker I believe). To get to that sticker you have to take the Black cover off the APPS(under the intake horn) and then remove 3 bolts?(i cant exactly remember) to get the APPS free from its brace. Then there should be a sticker on it that tells you information about it.

This is all from memory so if I am wrong, feel free to put me straight,lol

You are right I found all that and have the cover off already. I am down here in TN. right now and dont know if I should risk heading home or not about an 8hr drive without traffic. do you think the sensor is bad or another problem? thanks a great deal.
