Probably a code that they did not clear. Is the check engine light on? It should disappear after something like 25- 50 starts. If not, take it back and ask them why it is showing a code. I would want my customers to bring something like this to my attention. They should not charge you any fees either. I would ask that question right up front! Too many times technicians get a bad rap behind their back. If they knew there was a problem, I think most would try to remedy it.

I was having this "bucking" in 6th gear under a moderate pedal load (18-28psi of boost), and it wasn't throwing any codes. This started last Novemeber. I had some previous posts on it here, because we couldn't find out what's causing it. yesterday a new ECM was put in, thinking that it was the only left to try, and it still bucks. Fine unde light acceleration or WOT, but the speed you normal accelerate at, or pulling a load, it jerks like some sor tof fuel miss.
They've replaced everything that 3 different long time Cummins mechanics at 3 different shops could think about, and scanned it with scan tools, a co-pilot from Cummins. Nothing. but it doesn't run right and it irratates me that I trust my $500 parts runner more than my CTD.
Here's the list I can think of the top of my head that's been tested/replaced
APPS, cam sensor, ECM, fuel lines, filters, wire harnesses throughout, injectors, fueling chip (edge comp), wastegate, boots, hoses, AS relay.
No codes, no cylinder misfires, always at least 15psi fuel pressure, ran a clear hose from the VP-44, checked for air in fuel line, all good. injector pulses all in check, voltages in check.
the bucking does get stronger and more exaggerated as the fueling box is increased. But it's not the box that's the problem.
Not sure where this little gremlim is hiding under the hood, but he's tarting to get to me.
