01 wont start

01 wont start

have an 01 24v was running fine then hiccuped twice. stopped and killed it then it wouldn,t start.drained filter got it started and air bled out but it died at next corner(when i let off pedal to stop).shook really bad whem i tried to start it.got it home bled lines got it started again but it surges when idling. no codes showing. 14lbs. fuel pressure. please help

How did you retrieve the codes? I bet there is some.
Cycle the key 3 times , do not start it and leave it in the on position. Watch the odometer for codes and wait till the miles come back up.

i have an obd2 code reader. the truck is stock and doesn't surge until it gets warmed up.

You don't have a location listed to guage the temps there,
but did you check the filter to see if you had a gelling or other obstruction problem?

my girlfriend's 01 did the same thing only it would not restart. the gauge said 1/4 of a tank. it died going up hill when it had only a gallon in it. your gauge may also not be working properly.

had to replce the pickup unit in tank screen was clogged. put in 44k and filled it up with fuel and still has problem. dealers no help in central oklahoma

same happened on my 2000

same happenend on my 2000 with no mods the dealer was a real jerk but had to figure it out for myself it was a crank position sensor hope it helps
