They are sold over here

Tough as nails, and we even get the less sophisticated base version

This is the Bolero, and it's about 3300 US$ cheaper than the Goa.
Some folks use them for logging.... does not tip over as easily as a farm tractor, cut off the fenders etc and mount agro tires with 4 claw chains... Works really well.

We're an outside vendor deerslayer. But the Ryder shop is right down the road so we talk quite a bit. He was down today infact, talkin abt the same thing. They have a filter we needed to borrow, and he said they use maybe 1 a yr, but since they use that one a year, they inventory it, and have to buy it by the case.

Bolero

I like the Bolero. Utilitarian, and available in base-model trim. It wouldn't do well here though. Like on this board, almost 80% of the people with the RAM HD (or just about any brand of P/U) don't use it for it's design purpose - its just a status symbol/grocery getter. Unless it came all loaded up, most would pass it by. I like the usefulness of the exposed tie hooks along the bed - even if it does give the truck a retro look. Ever wonder why they stopped putting them on the trucks? It's because you don't need them if you don't haul anything with your truck.

As far as parts go, I know several folks that use the Mahindra tractors in the hay fields (pulling tedder/rakes) and they have absolutely NO problem getting parts or warranty service. I would expect that they would utilize much of the same distribution network.

The EPA is the problem.

If the price was right I would be all over that one... I think the ways of the american consumer is/will change very soon... I think people will start spending thier money more like it's actually thiers and not just looking at a monthly payment amount... I have a feeling that the new fade in vehicles will be "bang of the buck" instead of the "gotta have every option" mentality. I could see that truck doing VERY well over here, especially in the next 6 years. I would be alot more inclined to "use" a truck that looked like that, then beat on my dodge... Those flat panels, square corners, and sharp body lines hide dents alot better then the monster smooth flowing body panels on our trucks...

It reminds me of a jeep cherokee/wrangler/j10 mix... I think it would sell like hot cakes if the price was low...

Shoot, coming out of India it would be cheap, great fuel mileage, diesel. I'd buy one in a heartbeat, Ugly? Oh well, not in the beauty business and would be better to use when I don't need the big dodge but still need a pickup to get stuff. Hopefully they can get by the EPA without being forced to make it a gas suckin turd.

For some reason, the 2 door version reminds me of our old '73 Datsun pick-up. That thing was basic, cheap, fun, reliable and tough as nails.

The bolero has the same diesel engine as the Goa. (Over here)

Those trucks are really nice. Especially in base trim you can clean the interior with a mop and bucket, drive like mad and this for approx half the price of a Mitsubishi Pajero diesel pickup.

Since the goa and the bolero have the same frame, engine, powertrain etc the EPA should not pose a problem if one of the two passes..

Just my 2c
