how old were you when you purchased your first diesel?

man u aint alone here
Blackdiesel02, Brian is 16 years old, Iker42 Mike is 14 and looking for his first diesel, Dodgeman01 is i think my age, and has three or four diesels already, Im 23 and have my second, got my first at 20 years old, Drew03, Gotlift01, both young guys with diesels, (well my age at least) MCummings, and John Rodriguez are 23 and 21 respectably...
Trust me, look at these boards.. u are not alone.....
Reason for my diesel? at first when i got hte ford, i liked the sound, and improved torque over gassers.. second diesel.. well, somethings never change.. plus the ease to work on them as well isnt so bad either....
AS far as the women factor liking a diesel? Like Caleb said, u need to get to Texas.. Just more his area, south where im at, well these girls like that reggaeton puke music and cars with dubs more than diesels, but the look on their faces when u smoke past those "bling" queens is priceless...
Yes laredo is a town where it is not uncommon to see a car with a set of rims that cost more than the actual car.....

well at the age of 18 and 3 weeks outta high school i was dumb and went and bought a $33,000 race truck (ford lightning) had fun racing it but 14 months later i had already racked up 31,000 miles on it and the fuel was killing me...then it hit me, i was driving home from the hot rod cruise event at the ocean when a cummins provoked a race with me. now granted his was a twin turbo automatic truck but it hung side by side with me from about 65-110...and i was shocked. it wasnt long before i found my truck, already mildly modified on a local dealer lot. i was 19 when i got my diesel, im 20 now, and i LOVE it.
as for the chicks...here in baltimore i get lots of looks from the ladies, but if i drive 20 minutes outside the city to some rural areas...the girls love it!

I was 15 when we bought mine. I'm 20 now and I've still got it. All the chicks down here dig mine. One digged it so much she actually dated me for it. I've realized the advantages of diesel's since I was 14 or so. That's why I wanted one. Almost 5 years later and I'm finally starting to experience the advantages.

I just turned 27 and got my first dsl....Wanted one 11 years ago...Now that I have a "career" as opposed to a "job", not only could I afford it, but I felt better about spending the money....I'm a tightwad, always saving "just in case"....So all you young guys, take this advice:
Assuming you are single, and you have no extraneous debt, (like credit cards or student loans) you can comfortably afford to purchase a vehicle that costs slightly more than your annual salary, AND you can purchase a home which costs 3 times your annual salary...(Somewhat dependant on interest rates)
If you're married, your that much better off, as long as her income doesnt all go to her own debts....
So stay away from credit cards, dont blow your cash on needless junk, and dont overextend yourself by buying more than you can afford....
If you can follow these 3 simple rules, you'll have it made!!
Oh yeah:
Marry a RICH chick!!!

Bill, you know better than to ask Tyler about any of his dating adventures.... We've been down that road on this site more than once.....
Oh, by the way, I was 16 when I got my first Dodge truck, dumb enough to buy a gasser, couldnt afford the fuel, so bought another one for $8k more than I bought the gasser for to save money on fuel..... Diesel was quite a bit less at the time..... around 2 years later, I am on my 3rd Dodge, 2nd diesel.

I am 24 with the truck in my signature, but I had my first diesel when I was 19, which happened to be a PSD. Man, I did not know anything about diesels back then. Everyone says to me, thats such a big truck for a little guy, I just laugh. Girls here in PSU land don't like the Cummins either, especially when I smoke the pretty ones going to frat parties out on the sidewalk.

21, 2nd diesel. First one was a 93 chevy k2500 ext. cab long bed 4x4 6.5td when I was 18. Too good of a deal to pass up, I had bought it for 3,500. Did some pump mods, 33" tires, sold it for 6k a year later and got my 77 cj-5 for 800. Built it up, 33" tires, lockers, some body work, sold it for 2,500, bought my 03 evo, had it for a year, realized i'm not a car person, and bought my 05.

Got mine when i was 14. I found this site right before i turned 16 and realized just how cool my truck was. I am 19 now and love driving my diesel. As far as girls go, I have never picked one up because of my cool diesel. maybe that is a good thing.
