WOW, tough news for Ford.

Here is a news article to make the Ford execs have some nightmares. Sure glad I have a Cummins sitting in my truck.

The rising quality costs stem largely from increased warranty expenses for 2004 models, including a trouble-plagued diesel engine for heavy-duty trucks.
Boy-o-Boy, I sure am glad Ford owns Cummins to help get them out of this financial mess.

Sooner or later, manufacturers are going to learn to work the bugs out on their own dime and their own time, instead of letting the consumer become their "Beta Testers".

Unfortunately, this seems to be the first "job" that was "sent overseas"

What do they expect when they change parts 3 times in 1 model production year. They've done that for years and maybe it's finally catching up to them.

I had one of those 3.8 supercharged T-Birds. Drove it 200,000 miles with little trouble. It was probably the most under rated car ever to hit the road. They used to go 145 mph no sweat. There were many pic posted on the Super Coupe Club of America of guys running 145 taken from the back seat. I can't imagin reaching over the driver's shoulder to take a pic but many did. Mine went just a squeek under 145 befor I backed off. That's real fast on a highway. These cars were not real dragstrip killers as the rear suspension was more for handling and braking than dig at the strip. From any rolling start they were very fast and had the streamlining to go very very fast very quickly. Overall they were a great car. Ford really dropped the ball on these as they could have blown the Mustange away easily and with a much more comfortable ride. I used to get 26 mpg crusing at 75-80 for long trip I made. and easily 20 around town. Today these are a cult car and you can hardly buy one from anyone that has one that knows about them.

Xactly why their stock has reached junkbond status along with GM!

The best selling Pick-up in the world has just lost a notch on their belt!
