WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
when I sit in my truck and start it up I fell so proud to own one. Every time I look out the window I see a pretty sight. I love my truck. everything about it not just the enigne. I like how my 94 dodge steers harder than my 93 and other trucks. I like the way it sounds and rides sure some bumps hurt a little but if it want to haul most of the loads I haul then I need the truck I got. Even our 95 1ton auto gasser runs great and pulls good too nat like acummins but it gets the job done. I have pulled a 450 case dozer with both and they have always got where I needed to get. One rides a little lower but hey who gives a crap if you hit the bump stops every once and a while (3/4) I just drive dodges. maybe its because we have a great dealer and all the othe dealers sux. I usally don't even claim the 95 stroker I owned It was a PIG 180hp and no BAll$. If I hooked my 450dozer to it it would never make it up the hill that I live on now. heck even with over 350 hp my truck still knows it is there.
long winded I know but what can I say I like my truck wrapper engine and all
DM01
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
If I'm correct, the axles in the ferd have a shear rating of 20,000lbs where as the dodges have a 23,000lb shear rating. Got a friend of mine who has both a PSD and a Cummins. She said unloaded, the cummins was better, loaded, the PSD wins. I'm sorry though. I just don't see it. The torque of a Cummins comes in at 1400 and you don't really need to take it sky high to pull anything. My dad's 6.5L you have to take it dang near to redline to tow a 3 horse aluminum gooseneck. I've ridden in Dodge with a 6 horse gooseneck fully loaded that you never took above 2500. There was no need to. One of my buddys has a bomber Ford, and he said if it didn't cost so much bloody money, he'd put a cummins in there.
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
While on active duty every humvee and cucv had the 6.2 diesel. I think a moped is faster than those things. The 6.2 had no power whatsoever. They were horrible. The 6.5 was definately better but I do agree that it was no comparison to the 5.9.
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
not to get in a dog fight over which is best or stronger, but my 13 year old ctd will out do either one of the 3 when all are empty. it still has the puny little first gen pump on it. do not pull with it very much. heaviest load was a full size car on trailer. it would gain speed up a 7% grade. i cant compete with any of them when they are bombed, but the 2nd gen ctd should not have a problem for years to come.
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
My 02 will definately outdo any of those as well. Before the duramax, only 1% of the people buying diesels would buy a 6.5. I still think the powerstroke is the best selling, but not the best.

Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
As for the testing. Dodge and Chevy appeared to fall short of the 6.0. Who cares. They were all about equal anyhow. It all comes down to personal preference. If you really want to argue. International ,cummins ,and Isuzu diesels suck compared to CAT diesels.Cummins doesnt make 600HP and 2100 ft/lbs torque,nor does International or Isuzu,but CAT does. So stop yur snivelin' :'(
Re:WOW - Ford has really upped the ante here
Diesel Tech;

Please tell me which engine CAT has that is 359 Cu In. and puts out 600 hp and 2100 ft/lbs. of torque that has not been modified. The 3126 is about 440 cu in and is strong in the both trucks and the marine industry. The 3406 E model is at 700hp big time torque but is way up there in Cu In. Cummins does make some larger engines that do what you have described that are not modified.

So, which engine is it ????
