Yep, I'd own one. A tried and true design. Many with > 500k miles on them if well maintained. Hydraulic valves too, or at least my 6.9 is.

I've got an 01 Excursion with a 7.3 and its been a great engine, only problems I ever had with it were it needed the alternator and batterys replaced, which could happen to any vehicle. Other then that it's been great. Started all last winter when temps would go down to the single digits at night and it wasn't plugged in. Gets "better than a gasser" mpg and it'll get up and go if it has to, but it still ain't a cummins.
