Hey thanks Grey Wolf! I was looking forever to try and find a recon. We are still not sure what shape the bottom of the engine is in. All scheids has done is the head pulled off last time I checked, and they have had it sence the 3rd week in march. Hopeful the start and get something done. Not fun to make payment on a truck that is sitting in a garage 50 miles away. Plus i cant take the PO to court until they send me a full bill on what needs done.

Bosshawg600,

Your welcome. Scheids is a good group, I'm sure they'll give you some good options. Maybe they'll opt for a Cummins short block with the rest of their goodies?

12Vs are hard to come buy from what i have found. My brother got the last one that the guy we deal with had. He has like 8 24Vs sitting around and only 2 partial short blocked 12Vs. Hope you get your truck back together and i kinda know what it is like to pay for a truck that isnt running. Probably not as much as yours but it still sucks. Good luck with finding a 12V if thats what you want.

So i just found this while looking around on my comp. they have a bunch of 5.9Ls see if this will help:

I need to call scheids and see what they have come up with. Kent has connections and he might have found a good deal. Good thing is I already have a built pump good radiator and awesome trans so that should knock down the price of a block. I will see this next week where its at and what all has been done, and especially what the extent of the damage is. Hopefuly they have the old engine torn down by now, its been 5 weeks. As soon as they give us the exact bill we will go to court and see what i can get out of the PO.
