Well this is open ended as can be

do u want a ram diesel? gasser? complete swap? this is a toughie. Id say if u want a monster to build up start with a second gen cummins 12V and BOMB it to the HP u want, back it with a bullet proof trans, and drop it into ur vehicle of choice...

Mine would be a 92-97 F Series 250-350 4wd, lifted, locked, painted, rimmed etc etc etc..

However this is what id build if money were no option..

600-700 RWHP cummins (with 305 tires as a basis) 12V engine Piers stoopid pumped, and reworked head, B1/B2 twins, N20, complete rebuil, camshaft installed, vavles, lifters, everything from shied diesel or haisely machine, delivery valves, custom injectors, custom E V E R Y T H I N G.....

Drop it into a 97 F350 Regular Cab 4x4
back it with the best auto money can buy
Keep interior stock looking as possible
Lift truck enough to clear 2.5 ton rockwell axles
ARB lock front, rear, stuff 513 gears or whatever is needed for 44 inch boggers on custom built alcoa style rims, with manual locks on front axle
4 link suspension custom built with leaf springs, no blocks
Custom driveshafts, loops and Atlas II Twin stick transfer backing it up
My dad build front and rear bumpers with custom rear hitch and front hitch
Clear lights at front regular taillights at rear
True Blue paint with white 4x4 stickers
hood scoop and custom F350 "cummins powered" badges on acetone
Headache rack custom made, custom made tool box as well
undercoat everything, rhino line bed,
All auto meter gauges
Stereo system to boot with Phoenix gold, clarion, kenwood, fosgate and eclipse audio to boot

and finally

a custom made badge on my tailgate

Well I can see myself driving this truck.
I would want a 83' or so 4 door dodge dually 4x4. Drop a Common Rail 5.9 in it with a small set of twins with the needed fuel and stacked chips with lots of adjustabilty, backed with a Five-speed and a dual disc.

For the inside.
Nice leather seats with all the *****. A killer sound system w/ sat. radio

On the outside.
Some nice alcoa rims. A rhino lined bed with dual 5" stacks mitered right above the cab. All leveled with about a 4" lift. It would have to be intense blue as well.

This is my daily driver dream.

hey tex the rockwells are really not the axle of choice for what you are talking about, a dana 60 front and 80 rear will be a much better choice and brakes are way easier to get. i run rockwells in my land cruiser rock rig and i love them butnot the best choice for the street. and they only come in 6.72 gear ratio.

Thank ! for all the replys what I am thinking is sell my 2005 and buying a older CTD truck and using the rest of the money to build it. I am happy with my 05 but I realy want a auto trans built to handle power.
My first time to the drag strip with my 05 crazy larry, afe, exhaust mods in 2 wheel drive. wheel hop 2nd gear spun 3rd gear pulled good in 4th missed 5th and lost to a freinds DMax that I can run from at a roll. I am thinking of a 2nd gen dodge and want to do only bolt on's for power will I do better with a 12v or a 24v motor Thanks !

its all a matter of prefernce

Your like electronic gizmos, go 24V, you like mechanical easier to work on rides? 12V it is, 24V is truley plug and play, 12V is mosty bolt ons, and tweaks, IE fuel plate etc....
