If you had to deal with all the failed Dana's in the Jeep line you probably wouldn't re-up a contract with them either.

John Deere!

I had lots of trouble with my cummins in its end so I bought the Duramax. I love it. Major reason to switch was no true crew cab, not a very nice cab such as interior, or options. Lastly, I wanted a stout automatic. If dodge would change those things, I would have bought another and took my chances one more time.

But Deere!!!!

Case IH!!!!!!!!

I hate to burst your bubble, but alot of the Case/IH engines are Cummins or consolidated diesel (a Cummins subsidiary).
Deere used to make a drop in for pickup trucks. They may still.

The Cat C7 would be nice, but think about how much you'd be paying for that nameplate on it. I love Cat engines, but for the money I don't think a Cummins could be beat.

John deere has an industrial engine that would fill the bill:
