Two broke down strokers!!

I had quite a night last night....unexpectedly!! I was comin home from work and guy I know calls me. Said his truck quit on him goin down the road and ask me to come and get him. It was a 50 mile drive to get him and we pulled it about 10 miles to a old farmstead and left it. Im not sure what was wrong but he said it started to cut out on him and then just died and wouldnt start. This is one of many many problems he has had with this thing but still believes its the best made. On our way back , Im rollin down the highway and come up on this truck pullin about a 24ft enclosed trailer. I followed him for about 3 miles at about 50 mph and all of a sudden there was smoke and junk comin out from under the trailer. I thought the trailer was comin apart !! He pulled over and it was his stroker! I pulled up behind him and there was fluid runnin everywhere! We popped the hood and there was antifreeze and oil all over the place !! We got to talkin and I said the truck looks fairly new. He said he just bought it new 3 days ago!! He said this is the last straw with ford. He puts up grain handling equipment and pulls heavy loads. He said he had good luck with the 7.3 but the 6.0 is a pita!! He told me he was goin to go for a cummins. I just smiled and told him they are really good engines and I like mine! So I hooked on him and pulled him 12 miles to town . My friend didnt say a word the rest of the way into town. But I was sure smilin. Its nice to help a guy out and get to rub it in a little!!

Yeah it is really sad that people buy 6.0's and expect them to pull like a Cummins. Just out of couriosity did you pull his truck with the trailer still attached?

The first couple years of the 6.0L PSD had some major issues. But I thought that ford had them worked out, and that was why they finally retired the 7.3L.
But a 3 day old truck pulling a 24ft trailer crapping out like that.... Either it needed to be broke in, or the ole PSD was not put together right in the first place....

That would be funny to see, but we all got those stories....just makes them that much better when it is the 'other guy's' brand that your pulling home.

Good Job

My 02 CTD,

Your friend was severely torqued that he did not listen to you in the first place!!

Sorry for your friends purchase but I bet he's thankful for friends like you!
